About The Doctor

Dr. Macdonald is a vitreoretinal specialist located in San Antonio, Texas. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University School of Engineering and earned his MD from New Jersey Medical School. Subsequently, Dr. Macdonald underwent residency training at Cornell University's New York Hospital in Manhattan.

Following his residency, Dr. Macdonald dedicated two years to an intensive fellowship focused on the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases at The University of  California, San Diego. He served as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, contributing to the training of new ophthalmology doctors and retinal specialists. Since 2010, Dr. Macdonald has been in private practice at the South Texas Medical Center.
